Meet Michelle
Hey, what’s up! Thank you for being here and I am so glad you want to learn more about me! I am Michelle and I have made this blog for women hikers, campers, and backpackers in Washington State.
I have been exploring WA for the past year so I decided to start up this blog to help you explore Washington as well.
When I first moved here I was so overwhelmed! There is sooooo much to explore in this state. It is pretty crazy how much there is to do.
So in this blog, you will find all sorts of cool hikes and backpacking trips all over Washington! And not just in the summer months, this includes some of my favorite winter trips (Winter is always the hardest to plan).
I have fallen in love with Washington. This state sure is a gem and I am so glad you are here with me on this journey. If you ever have any questions hit me up at michelle@wanderwashington.com.
I also own another blog where I talk all things hiking, backpacking, and camping for women here.

Extra Information About Me
If you are curious on where I came from and how I got to Washington you can read more about me here.
I was born in Panama (the country), and moved to Houston, Texas when I was one. I pretty much grew up in Texas and lived there until the age of 31.
I honestly didn’t grow up traveling, hiking, camping, or backpacking. I didn’t have the means for any of that stuff, but luckily right after I graduated college as an electrical engineer a friend invited me to a camping trip and I have been addicted to the outdoors ever since.
I started traveling like crazy all over the world hiking, backpacking, and camping. I couldn’t believe I missed seeing all these beautiful places as a child. I longed to be near the mountains for years.
I then decided that it was best to move Washington to live near the mountains. I found a job as an electrical engineer, packed up my stuff, and moved on over.
I now live in Seattle with my husband and two dogs and every weekend we try to explore as much as possible. It has been such a wonderful experience so far and I finally feel like I have found my home.
